The UH-1 (Housing Only) is the bare-housing option for builders sourcing their own image intensifier tubes and optics. The UH-1 is an affordable, USA-made, feature-packed dual-tube binocular night vision platform from Low Light Innovations.
The housing is constructed from fiber-reinforced polymer with an aluminum dovetail, aluminum rear plate, and aluminum battery compartment. This material set delivers structural precision and durability at a lower production cost than the magnesium and titanium construction of the flagship MH-1. The UH-1 is user serviceable with field-level access for tube swaps and routine maintenance. It is non-modular by design.
The UH-1 runs on AA batteries with external power input via Fischer 4-pin connector. Both sources can be connected at the same time, and onboard smart circuit logic provides automatic failover if external power is interrupted. Continuous runtime is approximately 25 to 90 hours depending on configuration and power source.
The optical system is PVS-14 compatible and the housing is fully tube agnostic, accepting any standard 18mm image intensifier tube including MX-10160 and MX-11769.
The UH-1’s manual gain assembly connects without soldering, allowing installation and service at the field level. Every UH-1 is designed and assembled in East Greenwich, Rhode Island, manufactured in the United States, and backed by a transferable lifetime warranty.

Is night vision legal for civilian use?
Yes – the devices in our online store are civilian products sold legally in the EU. Rules for using night vision (for example for hunting) differ between countries, so please check your local regulations. Devices for military and law enforcement are supplied only B2B / B2G through tenders.
Which tube and optics should I choose?
It depends on how and where you will use the device. Higher FOM means a cleaner, sharper image in very low light. If you are unsure, call or e-mail us – a technician will recommend the configuration that fits your use and budget.
How fast will I get my order?
The availability is shown next to the price. We ship from Slovakia across the EU with Packeta and GLS, and you receive tracking as soon as your parcel is on its way. Orders from 1 000 € get free or reduced shipping.
Can I try the device before buying?
Yes. Book a visit to our showroom in Topoľčany (by appointment) and test devices in real darkness. See “Try before you buy”.
What does the warranty cover and how do I claim it?
Every product comes with a 24-month guarantee. Contact us, send or bring the device to our showroom, and we will inspect and repair or replace it. Details are in our return & complaints policy.
