Gray Zone Warfare x Night Gear Solutions
Real night vision expertise, brought into one of the most authentic tactical shooters out there.
Night vision that behaves like the real thing
When MADFINGER Games set out to bring night operations to Gray Zone Warfare, they wanted night vision that behaves the way it does in the real world – not a green filter over the screen. That is where we came in.
Over many months we worked side by side with the MADFINGER team: several in-person meetings, hands-on sessions with real devices and continuous expert support during development. Our goal was simple – make night vision in GZW as realistic as possible while keeping it fun to play.
Every night vision device in Gray Zone Warfare is the result of this collaboration.
Six things we sweated, so night ops feel right
Real FOM, real datasheets
Devices in the game are ranked by FOM (Figure of Merit), and each one performs according to the values in its in-game description. We brought MADFINGER specific, real devices with their actual datasheets, so what you read is what you get.
The KB DT-2 – exclusively through NGS
We exclusively brought one of the leading binocular night vision models, the KB DT-2, into the game. MADFINGER implemented it in two variants: green phosphor and white phosphor.
Green vs. white, at a glance
To make the two variants easy to tell apart, we designed a visual split using Cordura wraps from our partner KOLIBRI.works: the white phosphor DT-2 wears a Multicam Black wrap, the green phosphor DT-2 wears a Multicam wrap – exactly like we do it on real devices.
Night vision meets optics
We tested and advised on many combinations of night vision with optics, red dots and holographic sights, so the way they work together in-game reflects how they work at night in real life.
IR and visible lasers
We designed in detail how IR and visible lasers behave – how they look through night vision and how they look without it.
Helmet, focus and weather
From how devices move on the helmet to how you focus them, we sweated the details. With the weather patch we added further input on how night vision, lights and lasers behave in the rain.
Every device sees the night differently
Monocular or binocular, green or white phosphor – in Gray Zone Warfare each night vision device has its own field of view, image and weight, just like the real devices we build and service every day.

The KB DT-2 – in the game and in your hands
The same binocular you run in Gray Zone Warfare is available from us, built by hand in Slovakia, tested, with a datasheet, quality checklist and service book.

Multicam wrap
The classic night vision look – bright green image, Multicam Cordura wrap so you can tell it apart at a glance.

Multicam Black wrap
A neutral black-and-white image that many operators prefer for contrast – in a Multicam Black Cordura wrap.

The best night vision in a game – we believe
We believe the night vision in Gray Zone Warfare is the best implementation currently available in an official game release (not counting mods). We are proud of it, the collaboration continues, and we are excited about where the game is heading.
We think it is a really good game – and every now and then you will find the NGS team playing it too.
Thank you, MADFINGER Games
A huge thank you to the whole MADFINGER Games team. They are incredibly skilled, and it shows how much they care about this game. Working with people who want to get every detail right has been a pleasure.
A huge thank you to StronkuBery
Some people play the game. StronkuBery lives it – and he brings real night vision know-how to his whole community.
StronkuBery is a Czech content creator who brings Gray Zone Warfare to life on Twitch and YouTube. He invited us for a long, honest conversation about night vision, tubes, FOM and how NVGs work in GZW – and brought the topic to a community that truly cares about the details.
We really appreciate his work, his passion for the game and the way he treats his community. Thank you, Stronku – and see you on the next night op.
