Frequently asked questions
What do I need to mount a PVS-14 on a helmet?
A helmet with a shroud, a helmet mount (for example Wilcox L4G24 or Argus A4) and a J-arm or dovetail adapter for the PVS-14. A counterweight makes long use more comfortable.
What is a sacrificial window?
A clear protective lens that screws onto the objective and protects the expensive front lens from scratches and dirt. It is cheap to replace.
What is an afocal magnifier?
A lens that attaches to the objective of a PVS-14 or similar device and magnifies the image 3× or 5× for longer-range observation.
